According to figures released by the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) today, ‘My Love, My Bride’ gathered a total of 485,251 admissions after being screened on 629 screens nationwide from October 10th to 12th. ‘My Love, My Bride’ has now accumulated admissions of more than 780,000, since its opening day on October 8th.
The movie is a remake of the 1990 movie of the same name, which was directed by Lee Myung Se, and starred Park Joong Hoon and the late Choi Jin Shil. As such, the remake was able to invoke memories of the past from the older generation, while also attracting the younger generation because of Shin Min A and Cho Jung Seok. Shin Min A who has always wanted to become a box office draw on her resume, has not only got that wish fulfilled, but is also getting praise for her acting in ‘My Love, My Bride.’
Hollywood movie ‘Dracula Untold’ (director: Gary Shore) drew 339,568 admissions, to follow closely behind at second. ‘Whistle Blower’ (director: Yim Soon Rye) gathered 206,901 admissions on the same day, to place third, and brought its accumulated admissions to more than 1.25 million.
